Olympic silver medalist Nijel Amos headlines TrackTown Tuesday lineupThe top-ranked 800 meter competitor in the world in 2017 will be taking the TrackTown Tuesday stage for the first time. Nijel Amos, a Botswanan who is in his second season with Oregon Track Club Elite, will be joined by teammates Harun Abda and Tom Farrell in an action-packed show on March 6 at the Downtown Athletic Club. The March show will also celebrate the achievements of four highly decorated Oregon-based sub-4 minute milers who competed under legendary coach Bill Bowerman. Wade Bell, Archie San Romani Jr., Dave Wilborn, and Roscoe Divine will join us to talk about the historical significance of Oregon mid-distance running and their experiences as part of that heritage. With the Ducks gearing up for the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, March 9-10, we will connect with a group of Oregon throwers who are already preparing for the outdoor season. Maddie Rabing, Sydnee Walker, Max Lydum, and John Nizich will be on hand to discuss their goals for the season ahead. The evening will be hosted by TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna and Sasha Spencer Atwood, the Director of External Affairs at TrackTown USA, will be the emcee. The popular town hall meetings are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a social hour, followed by the one-hour show at 7 p.m. Click here for more information and see you on March 6! |
