EUGENE, Ore. -- New NCAA heptathon record holder Ashton Eaton will be featured in a special edition of "Tuesdays in Track Town" tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the Bowerman Building, Associate Athletic Director Vin Lananna announced Monday. The hour-long event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

Also featured will be Brianne Theisen, a 2010 NCAA automatic qualifier in the pentathlon, new assistant coach Harry Marra and many of Oregon’s 20 NCAA indoor qualifiers and 14 current indoor school record holders.

Over the weekend, Eaton broke Trey Hardee’s collegiate record by scoring 6,256 points at the Texas A&M Challenge. The defending NCAA decathlon and heptathlon champion’s score was also the fifth-highest ever recorded by an American.

It was one of five NCAA Indoor Championships automatic qualifying marks recorded by the Ducks over the weekend. Others included Theisen in the pentathlon (4,198), Nicole Blood in the 3,000 meters (9:12.54) and the men’s (9:29.82) and women’s (10:59.64) distance medley relay teams.

School records from the weekend included Eaton in the heptathlon, the women’s distance medley relay team, Amber Purvis in the 60 meters (7.33), Keshia Baker in the 400 meters (52.79) and the women’s 4x400 meter relay team (3:36.13).

PARKING NOTE: After 6 p.m., parking is free on 15th Street and in most lots near the Bowerman Building, but be sure to read the posted signs carefully.
